Mt Syphax Medical Rescue (May 04 2011 - 17:00)

Golden SAR responded to request for medical evacuation of a skier with a knee injury, from a very remote spot between Bugaboos Provincial Park and Rogers Pass. A HETS team quickly responded by helicopter, saving an epic multi-day evacuation.

Missing sledders, Silent Pass (Apr 11 2011 - 07:00)

Golden SAR responded to a report of two missing sledders in the Silent Pass area. Both subjects were located safe (if a little cold) and evacuated.

Medical Rescue, Rudi's Ridge (Apr 09 2011 - 14:00)

Golden SAR responded to a report of an injured backcountry skier on the backside of Rudi's Ridge, north of KHMR. A single female was evacuated with leg injuries.

MVI 5km east (Apr 08 2011 - 19:00)

Golden SAR responded to a motor vehicle incident 5km east of Golden on highway one. Extrication was performed (after one semi was towed from on top of a second semi by the towing company) for a single injured male.

Medical Rescue, Silent Pass (Apr 08 2011 - 17:00)

Golden SAR responded to a SPOT beacon activated in the Silent Pass area. A medical rescue was performed.

Missing person, Horse Creek (Apr 08 2011 - 01:00)

Golden SAR responded to a report of a missing person south of Golden in the Horse Creek area. The subject was found out at dawn.

MVI 80km West (Apr 02 2011 - 09:00)

Golden SAR responded to a three vehicle motor vehicle incident 80km west of Golden on highway one. Extrication was performed for an injured male, a deceased female and two injured children.

Avalanche, Repeater Ridge (Mar 25 2011 - 14:00)

Golden SAR responded to a report of an avalanche north of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, with tracks observed entering the slide path but not exiting it. Further investigation led to the conclusion that there had been no skier involvement.

Ice Rescue, Kicking Horse River (Mar 21 2011 - 18:00)

Golden SAR responded to a report of an individual jumping off a bridge into the Kicking Horse River, but were stood down en-route.

MVI 50km south (Mar 10 2011 - 07:00)

Golden SAR responded to a motor vehicle incident 50km south of Golden on highway 95, but were stood down en-route.

MVI 40km west (Mar 09 2011 - 17:00)

Golden SAR responded to a motor vehicle incident 40km west of Golden on highway one.

Avalanche, Kicking Horse Canyon (Mar 07 2011 - 14:00)

Golden SAR responded to an avalanche involving three ice climbers in the Kicking Horse Canyon. One patient, who had been fully buried but dug out by his companions, was rescued using helicopter longline, and evacuated to a waiting ambulance.

MVI 10km west (Feb 28 2011 - 15:00)

Golden SAR responded to a motor vehicle incident, 10km west of Golden on highway 1. No extrication was required.

Avalanche, Hope Creek (Feb 19 2011 - 17:00)

Golden SAR responded to three SPOT beacons activated near Mount Gerald, north of Donald. An avalanche had buried four snowmobilers, killing three of them.

Avalanche, Holt Creek (Feb 19 2011 - 16:00)

Golden SAR responded to a report of an avalanche involving two snowmobilers north of Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in the Holt Creek drainage.

MVI 40km West (Feb 11 2011 - 07:00)

Golden SAR responded to a three vehicle motor vehicle incident west of Golden on highway one, but were stood down when it was realised that the it was west of Rogers' Pass, and outside their area of operations.

MVI 15km East (Feb 08 2011 - 19:00)

Golden SAR responded to a motor vehicle incident 15km east of Golden on highway one, but wer stood down en-route.

Missing skiers, KHMR (Jan 30 2011 - 23:00)

Golden SAR responded to a report of two missing skiers at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The skiers were found the next morning.

Golden SAR responded to an MVI 20km west of Golden on highway 1, but were stood down en-route.
